Aims & Scope

Majalah Kedokteran Bandung (MKB) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that publishes research in tropical medicine, infectious diseases, and biomedical sciences, with an emphasis on the translational and clinical relevance of experimental findings.

The journal welcomes manuscripts in, but is not limited to, the following areas:

  • Infectious and tropical diseases, including emerging and re-emerging infections, antimicrobial resistance, tuberculosis, dengue, vector-borne diseases, and zoonotic diseases.
  • Experimental and natural product-based biomedical research, focusing on bioactive compounds, herbal or marine products, in vitro and in vivo studies, cellular and molecular mechanisms, and pharmacological evaluations with therapeutic or translational potential.
  • Clinical and translational medicine, encompassing diagnostic approaches, disease mechanisms, clinical management, biomarkers, treatment outcomes, and therapy evaluation relevant to tropical, subtropical, and low- and middle-income country settings, particularly in resource-limited environments.
  • Public health, epidemiology, and behavioral medicine, addressing disease prevention, community health, and behavioral aspects in tropical and subtropical regions.

MKB publishes case reports on a limited basis, accepting only two to three case report articles per year, with priority given to rare and clinically significant cases.
