Abstract

Sari. P-availability on land application is lower than N and K nutrients in oil palm plantations in the North Sumatra. The research was conducted to determine the P-availability in the land application, the relationship to FFB production, and comparing the dynamics of P-available in several oil palm plantations. This research taken soil sample from the land application on Block A88B and A88E, Afdeling 1 of Teluk Panji Estate, Kampung Rakyat subdistrict, South Labuhanbatu District, North Sumatra. Soil analysis was tested at the Laboratory of Soil Fertility, Faculty of Agriculture, Sumatera Utara University and the Laboratory of Analytical and Quality Control, Asian Agri, Tebing Tinggi. This research was conducted from June until October 2016. This research used the descriptive analytical methods. Parameters included P-available using the Bray-II method, soil pH using H2O and KCl methods, and Fresh Fruit Bunches (FFB) productivity. The results showed that the actual and potential acidity were classified as acid of 4.70 and 4.24 respectively. P-available value of 200.26 ppm (high). An increasing oil palm FFB yield was 45.63% - 81.86% in the presence of land application. Changes pattern of the dynamics of P-available on land applications were influenced by soil pH, soil organic matter, phosphate-solubilizing microbial, reaction time, and temperature.  Keywords: Land application, P-available, soil pH
