Philosophy of Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran

Who Can Submit?

Anyone may submit an original article to be considered for publication in Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran provided he or she owns the copyright to the work being submitted or is authorized by the copyright owner or owners to submit the article. Authors are the initial owners of the copyrights to their works (an exception in the non-academic world to this might exist if the authors have, as a condition of employment, agreed to transfer copyright to their employer).

General Submission Rules

Submitted articles cannot have been previously published, nor be forthcoming in an archival journal or book (print or electronic). Please note: "publication" in a working-paper series does not constitute prior publication. In addition, by submitting material to Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran, the author is stipulating that the material is not currently under review at another journal (electronic or print) and that he or she will not submit the material to another journal (electronic or print) until the completion of the editorial decision process at Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran. Formatting Requirements

Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran has no general rules about the formatting of articles upon initial submission. There are, however, rules governing the formatting of the final submission. See Final Manuscript Preparation Guidelines for details. Although bepress can provide limited technical support, it is ultimately the responsibility of the author to produce an electronic version of the article as a high-quality PDF (Adobe's Portable Document Format) file, or a Microsoft Word, WordPerfect or RTF file that can be converted to a PDF file.

It is understood that the current state of technology of Adobe's Portable Document Format (PDF) is such that there are no, and can be no, guarantees that documents in PDF will work perfectly with all possible hardware and software configurations that readers may have.

Rights for Authors and Journals of Unpad

As further described in our submission agreement (the Submission Agreement), in consideration for publication of the article, the authors assign to Journals of Unpad all copyright in the article, subject to the expansive personal--use exceptions described below.

Attribution and Usage Policies

Reproduction, posting, transmission or other distribution or use of the article or any material therein, in any medium as permitted by a personal-use exemption or by written agreement of Journals of Unpad, requires credit to Journals of Unpad as copyright holder (e.g., Journals of Unpad © 2026).

Peer Review Process

Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran applies a peer review process. All articles submitted to Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran will be reviewed in double blind review by the reviewers. In general, each article will be reviewed by two reviewers. The responses from these reviewers will be used as the basis for the editor to determine whether an article is accepted, accepted with major/minor revision, or rejected. An article is rejected for publication due to various reasons, including the article does not fit the scope of agriculture, animal husbandry, fisheries and bioscience and the scientific side of the article is inadequate to be classified in a scientific paper, a basic methodological error, or because the author refuses to make suggestions. improvements provided by reviewers without a logical basis.Recruitment of reviewers is carried out based on the field of science and has published scientific papers in the field of animal science and technology.

Reviewers are encouraged to use the Peer Review Form as they conduct their review and before submitting their review in Editorial Manager. Once all reviews have been received by the editors, corresponding authors are given editorial decisions along with the anonymous reviewer feedback. Most manuscripts require revisions prior to acceptance. Authors are responsible for completing these revisions in a timely manner, as prescribed by the decision letter.

Publication Frequency

Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran is published online three times a year in March, July and November.

Open Access Policy

Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. All articles are open access and under the CC BY 4.0 License (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/).

Plagiarism Check

Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran does not tolerate plagiarism. Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran will be an object to plagiarism screening using Turnitin. Similarity index above 25% will be rejected.

Declaration of Conflicting of Interests Policy

A potential conflicting interest might arise from relationships, allegiances or hostilities to particular groups, organizations or interests, which may influence excessively one’s judgments or actions. The issue is particularly sensitive when such interests are private and/or may result in personal gain. Articles will be evaluated fairly and will not necessarily be rejected when any competing interests are declared.

Author(s) shall include such a declaration at the end of the manuscript after any Acknowledgements, under the heading 'Conflict of Interest'. If no conflict exists, please state that 'The Author(s) declare(s) that there is no conflict of interest'.

Declaration of Artificial Intelligence Tools Use

Following the COPE guidelines, if any AI tool is used in any part of the manuscript, including: the writing of the manuscript, full or partial generation of images used in the manuscript, collecting data, or analyzing data, the authors must fully disclose this in the Acknowledgements section, and also state in the Materials and Methods section how the AI tool was used, which tool was used, and what parts of the text or images were affected. Note that an AI tool cannot be listed as an author of a manuscript.

Animal Ethics and Welfare Statement

Research involving experimental animals be carried out following animal ethics and welfare. Experimental animals must be appropriately treated and minimizing the pain that might arise during the treatment. The utilization of experimental animals must be following local, national, and international regulations. The authors must make a statement, including the name of the ethical authority and the consent number; the trial is carried out in compliance with animal ethics and welfare.

Experiments should be carried out in accordance with the Guidelines laid down by the International Animal Ethics Committee or Institutional ethics committee and in accordance with local laws and regulations. All studies using animal subjects should include an explicit statement in the Material and Methods section identifying the review and ethics committee approval for each study (please provide ethical approval numbers), if applicable. Editors reserve the right to reject papers if there is doubt as to whether appropriate procedures have been used.

Publication Misconduct

Authors, reviewers, and editors should maintain the integrity of the academic record during the whole process of publication. Business needs should be precluded from compromising intellectual and ethical standards.

When there are suspected cases of publication misconduct, such as redundant (duplicate) publication, plagiarism, fraudulent or fabricated data, undisclosed conflict of interest, or ethical problems with a submitted (or published) manuscript, Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran will follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) flowcharts (https://publicationethics.org/guidance/Flowcharts). The discussion will be carried out by the Editorial Board team, and the decision will be issued by the Editor in Chief.

Reference Management

Every manuscript submitted to Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran shall use reference management application e.g. Mendeley.

Publishing Fees

Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran is open access and free for anyone all over the world to read and download immediately upon publication. Manuscripts are subjected to an article processing charge (APC) upon acceptance. This charge covers the costs of turning a manuscript into a published article.

Author(s) are charged IDR1,000,000,- for Indonesian author(s) or 75 US$ for foreign author(s) for each accepted article.

Advertisement and Direct Marketing Policy

Jurnal Ilmu Ternak Universitas Padjadjaran does not receive any advertisement. We invite authors to submit manuscripts to our journal through official announcements on the journal's website, communication through associations, and personal communication with authors who have expertise in accordance with the objectives and scope of our journal. We do not offer fast publication, fast reviews, or acceptance guarantees.

Personal-use Exceptions

The following uses are always permitted to the author(s) and do not require further permission from Journals of Unpad provided the author does not alter the format or content of the articles, including the copyright notification:

  • Storage and back-up of the article on the author's computer(s) and digital media (e.g., diskettes, back-up servers, Zip disks, etc.), provided that the article stored on these computers and media is not readily accessible by persons other than the author(s);
  • Posting of the article on the author(s) personal website, provided that the website is non-commercial;
  • Posting of the article on the internet as part of a non-commercial open access institutional repository or other non-commercial open access publication site affiliated with the author(s)'s place of employment (e.g., a Phrenology professor at the University of Southern North Dakota can have her article appear in the University of Southern North Dakota's Department of Phrenology online publication series); and
  • Posting of the article on a non-commercial course website for a course being taught by the author at the university or college employing the author.

General Terms and Conditions of Use

Users of the Journals of Unpad website and/or software agree not to misuse the Journals of Unpad service or software in any way.

The failure of Journals of Unpad to exercise or enforce any right or provision in the policies or the Submission Agreement does not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any term of the Submission Agreement or these policies is found to be invalid, the parties nevertheless agree that the court should endeavor to give effect to the parties' intentions as reflected in the provision, and the other provisions of the Submission Agreement and these policies remain in full force and effect. These policies and the Submission Agreement constitute the entire agreement between Journals of Unpad and the Author(s) regarding submission of the Article.
