Author Guidelines

The submitted article must be in English and never been published elsewhere or is not currently under consideration by an editor in another journal.

Articles submitted to JWP must be original articles that are the result of research, both empirical and theoretical studies that raise political issues. The publications displayed in the Jurnal Wacana Politik (JWP) are expected to enrich the scientific treasures of political science and have an impact on understanding political and democratic development.

Researchers/submitters are expected to state publicly about research funding and the purpose/importance of the publication.

The systematics of the article consists of: title; author's name (without academic degree); abstract; keywords; introduction; method; results and discussion; conclusions; references.

Article Processing Charge

Articles submitted to Jurnal Wacana Politik (JWP) will not be charged a processing fee. Authors will be charged once their article has been accepted for publication, based on the review and revision process.

Instructions for Submitting Manuscripts Online

Manuscripts must be submitted online

  • Author must have an account or register online.
  • After register, author must be login and click the “Submit Article” tab.
  • Follow the instructions on the submission system.
  • Article must be submitted on MS Word format (.doc or .docx).
  • The manuscript is typed on A4 paper, around 5.000-7.000 words (excluding title, abstract, and reference) in Times New Roman size 11 pts with single space (please read and follow the journal template).
  • In "add author" please provide the data of the author (full name, affiliation, and email).
  • The author's name shall include no academic degrees. If the article has more than one author, the primary author must be on the first of the others.
  • The abstract length is around 200-250 words, while the limit of keywords is 3-5 words. The abstract, at the least, must contain the aim, method, and result(s) of the research.
  • Tables and figures must have titles, clear numbers, and sources, and be typed in single space. Pictures and figures are preferred in the black-and-white format.
  • The list of references only contains referred sources, and all referred sources must be mentioned on the list. Reference sources consist of, at the least, 80% literature published in the last ten years. The references are sources in the form of books, research articles in a journal or a research report (including undergraduate theses, postgraduate theses, dissertations, books, and other relevant publications). Articles published in Jurnal Wacana Politik (JWP) are recommended to be used as references.
  • Referencing and citing techniques follow the reduced reference technique (last name, year). For example: (Djuyandi, 2025).
  • The reference format used is the 7th edition of APA (American Psychological Association) style.
  • It is recommended to write citations or references using a reference management application program, for example, Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero, or others.
  • All manuscripts are read and assessed anonymously by reviewers selected by the editor based on their expertise. Authors are given the opportunity to revise their manuscripts based on the recommendations/suggestions of the reviewers or editor. Decisions regarding publication or approval will be notified via the author's email address.
  • Editors reserve the right to modify and correct the spelling, writing, and grammar of published manuscripts.
  • All matters relating to permission to quote or use computer software in writing manuscripts, or other matters related to copyright, including all legal consequences, are the sole responsibility of the author.

Copyright Notice

The following conditions must be met by the author:

  • Author retains copyright and grants journal to first publisher rights simultaneously with manuscript licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License allowing others to share work with a statement of authorship of the work and initial publication in this journal.
  • Authors may enter into separate contractual arrangements for the non-exclusive distribution of a rich version of the journal's publication (e.g. posting it to an institutional repository or publishing it in a book), with acknowledgment of its original publication in this journal.
  • Authors are permitted and encouraged to post their work online (e.g. in institutional repositories or on their website) before and during the submission process, as it can lead to productive exchanges, as well as earlier and more advanced citations of published work. Privacy Statement

All information provided to the Jurnal Wacana Politik (JWP) will be used only for the purposes of the journal as stated in the Journal webpage and will not be given to other parties for any purpose.

Authors and editors will respect each other's privacy to avoid any form of copyright infringement, such as duplication, fabrication, falsification, and plagiarism.

The manuscript of this article is the original work of the author that has never been published in any journal (media). In the manuscript, the author must quote (citation) the writings contained in the article of Jurnal Wacana Politik (JWP). If there is a duplication of publication, the manuscript will be revoked / deleted by the editorial board.

The name and email address entered on the journal site will only be used for the stated purposes.

Author Fees

This journal charges the following author fees.

Article Publication Charge: 2.500.000,00 (IDR)

If this paper is accepted for publication, you will be asked to pay an Article Publication Fee to cover publications costs.

If you do not have funds to pay such fees, you will have an opportunity to waive each fee. We do not want fees to prevent the publication of worthy work.

Publication fee for Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) lecturer, external editors and reviewers are Rp. 1.500.000,00.
